Theme Camps

The Portal is not your garden variety electronic music camp. Here at The Portal we've worked hard to have a high definition sound system and a diverse group of Djs ready to elevate your mind to its highest potential. Let the laser lights pierce through your skull and fill your brain bucket with yummy visuals sure to please the dancing burner on the go. We will also have a live band playing that goes by the handle Firedawg. All of this is enclosed in one great big dome that will keep you and the sound dry in case of rain storms.

Combining the random exoticness of a circus with the backwoods eccentricity of a hillbilly ... be prepared, 'cause ya never know what ya'll get!

Our vision is to camp and interact with other cool nomadic spirits, share stories, resources, share our passion for our chosen lifestyles, inspire, learn and make connections for future rendezvouses.

We welcome current nomads, future nomads, former nomads, wanna be nomads, part time nomads, domestic nomads, international nomads, technomads, digital nomads, lowtechnomads, photonomads, RVing nomads, hitchhiking nomads, land nomads, bicyling nomads, running nomads, walking nomads, amtrekkers, backpackers, flashpackers, vagabonds, NuRVers, water nomads, folks who want to host nomads or folks who just want to be around nomads (yes, bring your non-nomadic friends too!).

Come on down to The Whiskey Lounge for some shade, nite lights, muzik, the Whiskey buffet and Single-Barrel of Truth. We'll have an 12 channel PA for Open Mike Chaostriphies and our 'juke box of sonic curiosities'. Anyone who wants to plug into the liquid audio mixture-structure should feel free to join in. Just bring a chair and a glass (or a bottle for the buffet) and an instrument if you can. Here's a wee nip o' things to come:
